This site handles the minimum information needed to run a classifieds board. Below is what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Google account information — a unique identifier, your email address, and your display name, received during Google sign-in.
- Listing content — title, description, target country, category, and any contact details you enter (website, social media, email).
- Access information — IP address, time of access, browser type.
- Enquiries — what you send through the contact form and the email address you give for a reply.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and let you manage your own listings.
- To publish listings and make them findable.
- To block spam and duplicate posting. The limits of one listing per account per 24 hours and three per IP per day cannot be enforced without this.
- To check listings against the posting rules and to handle reports.
How IP addresses are handled
IP addresses are never stored in the clear. They are hashed with a secret key, and the original address cannot be recovered from the stored value. IPv6 addresses are grouped by /64. This hash is used only to enforce posting limits.
How long we keep it
- Listings — expire automatically 60 days after publication. Deleting one removes it immediately.
- Accounts — if you ask us to delete your account, the account and its listings are deleted together.
- Access logs — deleted after 90 days.
- Enquiries — deleted within one year of being resolved.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information or hand it over for advertising. We rely on the following providers to run the service.
- Google — sign-in (OAuth). Google's own privacy policy applies as well.
- Google AdSense — the advertising shown on the site. Cookies may be used to personalise ads.
- Our hosting provider — servers and database.
- Lawful requests from authorities, to the extent required.
Cookies
- Session cookie — required to keep you signed in. Blocking it makes sign-in impossible.
- Browser storage — remembers your chosen language and colour theme.
- Advertising cookies — set by Google and its partners. You can turn off personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct, or delete your information. Send the request through the contact page and we will act on it once we have verified it. You can delete your own listings at any time from “My listings” after signing in.
Children
This site is not for anyone under 14. If we learn that we hold information from a child under 14, we delete it.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Significant changes are announced on the site.
